The Energy Future of the Western Balkans: MEF Energy Forum 2025
As YESS, we attended the MEF Energy Forum 2025 held on June 16–17 in Skopje, North Macedonia. Marking its eighth edition, this year’s forum stood out as a critical meeting point for shaping the regional energy transition agenda through strategic collaboration, sustainable development, and inclusive policy dialogues.
The forum explored the transformation of energy
dialogue—from managing crises to actively shaping a future-proof energy system.
Improving energy efficiency and expanding renewable resources is no longer just
a goal — it's a regional priority in the Western Balkans. In line with this
vision, a wide range of stakeholders, from policymakers to private sector
representatives and technology leaders, came together at the same table. Topics
such as artificial intelligence, digitalisation, innovative financing models,
and inclusive energy policies discussed in depth.
Our purpose in attending MEF25 was to closely follow the
developments in regional energy transformation, explore the integration
potential of energy storage systems, and engage with cross-sector insights for
future cooperation.
With its focus on actionable strategies rather than
theoretical debates, MEF25 continues to be a cornerstone platform for shaping a
resilient and sustainable energy future in the region.
